IoT Chain (ITC) is developed as a lite operating system using the Ethereum blockchain. The platform aims to provide a secure and scalable public chain for the IoT (Internet of Things) world.

Similar to many ERC20 tokens, ITC is also fully supported by Ledger where both asset storage and account management are possible. In addition to this, third-party wallets too can manage the ITC stored on a Ledger hardware wallet, providing extra flexibility in account management.

In today’s tutorial, we will go over the steps on how to get Ledger connected to a third-party wallet such as the MyEtherWallet (MEW) to manage ITC.

Before you begin: You will need to have an initialized Ledger hardware wallet, plus the Ethereum app already installed on your Ledger device. You also need to have the Ledger Live application downloaded and installed on your device.

Make sure you are using the latest version of Ledger Live.

How to get Ledger and MEW connected

Step #1. Visit the MyEtherWallet from the main page here, and scroll until you see the ‘Access Now’ button as per the image below.

Step #2. Next, press the ‘Hardware’ wallet as shown below.

Step #3. This brings up a new window where you need to select ‘Ledger’ and then ‘Continue’ as depicted below.

Step #4. Choose the Ethereum Ledger Live option from the default address, and then click ‘Next’.

and then click ‘Next’.

Step #5. Keep the network as it is, select an address, then accept the terms and conditions, and finally press on the ‘Access My Wallet’ button.

Now, all that is needed is to add the ERC20 token of interest by following the next instructions.

#1. Access your wallet as per Steps 1–5, outlined above.

#2. In the default token search bar, search ‘ITC’, load the token and that’s yet.

That’s yet! You are now in your ITC account which you can manage just as easily as if it was with the Ledger Live app.

Conclusion

Like many cryptocurrencies, ITC is a fast emerging cryptocurrency that not only is fully supported by Ledger but by third-party wallets such as MEW. MEW provides an additional level of management over the ITC tokens stored on Ledger. In this manner, one platform can always act as a backup management system if needed.
